Artlandish is a volunteer-run organization. All donations go to enhance the program for the communities we serve. Board members are volunteers giving of their time and resources to help bring art to every member of the community. But we can't do it alone. We provide supplies, uniforms, snacks, guest teachers, and we cover costs for running the organization's administrative needs. Please help us! Donate today and consider making your donation recurring. We are available anytime by email to provide more information about our current offerings to any donor who wishes to learn more.
Thoughts from Artlandish Vice President, Angela Temple:
From the satisfaction of bringing something from the imagination into expression to the surprise of what emerges, art teaches us about ourselves, and our interpretation of the world both individually and collectively. In fact, art serves a purpose in every person’s life - elevating moments as they pass and allowing us to share in a language that lifts the spirit and strives for beauty and truth. Artlandish is an organization committed to bringing this valuable experience to everyone. I am out with lanterns, looking for myself- Emily Dickinson
Why Art Matters
Visual Art, Dance, and Music help people discover the joy of being creative. Research shows that art-making positively impacts brains, bodies and behavior. Art connects us. By making art together, children and adults share a unique bonding experience contributing to increased community, relationship-building and shared expression. Research suggests that when we make art, our brains develop flexibility and enhances brain function. The act of making art and experiencing art increases serotonin, improving mood and outlook. Art classes are especially impactful in under served communities where it might be a less sought after or available resource. Art is a necessary break from the mundane, it brings unexpected outcomes and keeps life exciting! But equally important is the fact that safe and well-supervised art classes offer cognitive, social, emotional, and physical benefits that may not be accessible to some. Artlandish seeks to bring it all to the community!
